Las Casas Manila by Margarita Forés

Las Casas Manila by Margarita Forés
(Roosevelt, Quezon City)

Day after Christmas, my Betrothed and I had lunch at Las Casas Manila by Margarita Forés. This reservation-only place recently opened a resort at Roosevelt Ave., Quezon City (not Manila), which is quite close to my Betrothed’s home. From its name, it’s easy to assume that it’s some sort of Spanish place. This was easily confirmed after seeing their small but fanciful menu. Also, Margarita Forés was apparently named Asia’s best female chef in 2016 who owns Cibo, which we had the chance to try before; we know that the food there is good albeit expensive. Finally, since one of my Betrothed’s friends touted visiting here, we had our expectations set quite high.

Restaurant Toledo

Restaurant Toledo
(Wageningen, the Netherlands)

My fourth day in Wageningen coincided with the last day of the conference. That meant no dinner buffet and also meant I had to find some place for nourishment. I explored the town center near Wageningen University & Research with the help of Google Maps and found an interesting place called Restaurant Toledo. On the way, I passed by a truck that served haring, but knowing what I’m about to do, I decided to head straight to the restaurant.

Sancho's

Sancho's
(Maginhawa Street)

Beloved and I had dinner at Sancho’s last night. This Spanish restaurant, according to Beloved, is related to Dulcinea. Although we only had breakfast there, I had a chance to peek at the menu and I was expecting above average prices here. Nevertheless, we were prepared to pay whatever the cost, so we decided to eat here at one of the few places we’ve yet been to at Maginhawa Street.

Dulcinea - Breakfast

Dulcinea - Breakfast
(Tomas Morato)

Beloved and I had breakfast at bakery-slash-Spanish restaurant Dulcinea a couple of days ago. Beloved used to frequent this place for the Spanish food with her family. However, this is the first time for her trying out their Breakfast menu. Same goes to me. While walking around Tomas Morato in the morning, looking for a place to eat, we find out that this place is opened, so we went inside to satisfy my early morning hunger, despite Beloved’s warnings that this might be a pretty steep place.
