CoCo Ichibanya

CoCo Ichibanya
(Vertis North)

Beloved and I have been going to CoCo Ichibanya a lot recently. This curry place had a new branch at Vertis North. We’ve actually been to this chain before and, like Ippudo, it’s proven to be consistent. We first tried it at its first branch at Estancia Mall at Capitol Commons, then somewhere near Rockwell, and finally frequenting it at Eastwood. While Eastwood is quite close to home, Vertis North is a bit cheaper to commute to, so we’re ecstatic to learn it has a new branch there.

Buddha's Bowl

Buddha's Bowl
(Harbor Point, Subic)

Beloved and I celebrated our anniversary at Subic this past week. We took the bus from Cubao and walked to Harbor Point Mall after getting dropped off the outskirts of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. It was a long walk and we were famished, so we ate at the first unique place that caught our eye (there weren’t a lot)—Buddha’s Bowl.

Ryu

Ryu
(Tomas Morato)

Beloved and I had dinner at Ryu last night. This relatively new Japanese ramen and curry restaurant opened up at Tomas Morato, beside California Berry. The signage was deceivingly small, making me think it was a small place, especially beside the large and colorful one of its neighbor. However, this was located a bit inside, and it was actually a pretty large area compared to its sign. More surprising was the amount of people eating—we had to wait to get seated and even more people followed after us.

Curry Curry House

Curry Curry House
(SM Megamall)

Today, my beloved was craving for curry. Since we were on our way to Ortigas, we decided to have lunch at Curry Curry House. We discovered this place at a PPF event during one of the early days of the Atrium. This isn’t the first time we’ve eaten here, but the number can be counted with one hand. Their specialty is Japanese curry: meat in curry sauce served over rice.
