The Cooking Room

The Cooking Room
(V. Luna Extension)

The day after we went to Tendon Kohaku, my Betrothed and I went to The Cooking Room. This semi-new place is located on top of the same building as newly-opened Shopwise Express in Maginhawa, near V. Luna Extension. This is an all-you-can-eat place, where you cook your stuff on top of your table, hence the name, similar to other Korean grills. However, they offer much more than that.

Tendon Kohaku

Tendon Kohaku
(Vertis North)

First of, I’d like to apologize for the delays of the last few reviews and the few upcoming more; these have been stuck in the backlog for a while due to lack of time (work). Anyway, a couple months back, my Betrothed and I had dinner at Tendon Kohaku in Vertis North. I forget why we went to Vertis North in the first place, but I do know that we wanted to try something new. And since this place fits that description, we tried it out.

Ohayo Ramen Bar

Ohayo Ramen Bar
(Maginhawa)

About a month-and-a-half ago, my Betrothed and I had an early dinner at Ohayo Ramen Bar. While ramen is not exactly a rarity in Maginhawa, this newly-opened place did receive some pretty good reviews from initial reviewers. Being ramen lovers, my Betrothed and I set our expectations quite high.

Kumori

Kumori
(SM North EDSA)

After we went to Sumo Niku, my Betrothed and I had desserts at Kumori. We’ve been here a couple of times, mostly for their drinks and pastries. I noticed that we haven’t really done a full-fledged review of the place. So, I guess here’s that.

McDonald's

McDonald's
Flavors of Japan

So, here’s a semi-special blog. Mcdonald’s has a couple of new menu items called Konnichi-wow - Flavors of Japan”. After seeing these menu items, my Betrothed wanted to try it out immediately. After trying it out, I decided to write about it despite having a few items in the backlog.

Sumo Niku

Sumo Niku
(SM North Edsa North Towers)

My betrothed and I had an early dinner at Sumo Niku near the end of 2018. This place was in soft opening at a new portion of already gargantuan SM North EDSA called the North Towers (except it’s not really a tower; the mall is more elongated than tall and perhaps more fitting to be called North Wall). We happened upon the place while exploring the new mall section and we learn that they offer unlimited barbecue similar to most other Korean all-you-can-eat places popping up all over the place. Since the price seemed fair, we decided to try it out.

Ahem.

Las Casas Manila by Margarita Forés

Las Casas Manila by Margarita Forés
(Roosevelt, Quezon City)

Day after Christmas, my Betrothed and I had lunch at Las Casas Manila by Margarita Forés. This reservation-only place recently opened a resort at Roosevelt Ave., Quezon City (not Manila), which is quite close to my Betrothed’s home. From its name, it’s easy to assume that it’s some sort of Spanish place. This was easily confirmed after seeing their small but fanciful menu. Also, Margarita Forés was apparently named Asia’s best female chef in 2016 who owns Cibo, which we had the chance to try before; we know that the food there is good albeit expensive. Finally, since one of my Betrothed’s friends touted visiting here, we had our expectations set quite high.

Unlimited Grill & Sushi by Korean J

Unlimited Grill & Sushi by Korean J
(Tomas Morato)

My Betrothed and I had dinner at Unlimited Grill & Sushi by Korean J a few days before Christmas; and, yes, this is their actual store name. This was an unplanned trip and the primary reason was that I was craving for kimchi. We met at a 7-11 opposite this place and found that they had a table open for us despite the small queue, as what most Korean all-you-can-eat places have especially on a weekend. We decided to take the opportunity upon learning the price.

Naan

Naan
(Kapitolyo)

My Betrothed and I along with some friends ate dinner at Naan a few weeks before Christmas on the day my Betrothed and I ate at Mendokoro Ramenba. It’s quite rare for us to eat at an Indian restaurant, which this place was. Our friends have already eaten here before with positive feedback, so we went in with relatively high expectations.
