Inggo Noms...

A couple of days before my birthday a couple of weeks ago, Beloved and I had dinner at Shuin. This Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant is located near the most Chinese-centric street of Quezon City, Banawe. We never ate here before becuse Beloved cannot find it, but she has heard of it and wanted to go. Since she now has that information, she convinced me to try it out. While not in Banawe itself, it’s just a very short walk when you reach its intersection with Maria Clara Street.

Beloved and I had dinner at The Dimsum Place a few weeks back. We’re semi-regulars of this place, mainly because Fishermall doesn’t have a lot of places to eat in that we particularly fancy. The Dimsum Place stands out in that it’s in the more affordable side and they have both Beloved’s and my favorite dimsum.

Beloved and I revisited Gloria Maris at Gateway almost a month ago. We celebrated the eve of our anniversary here. It’s been almost five years since our first visit, and I am partly curious how inflation comes into play. Anyway, we went here since we were somewhat craving for seafood and this was one of the few decent places in Cubao that we know of.

Beloved and I had dinner at Tien Ma’s a couple of weeks ago. It’s our second time trying this place, with the first time being a not bad experience. Located at KIA Theater, right beside Tim Hortons, this Chinese/Taiwanese place serves dimsum, mami, and other Chinese viands that goes well with rice. It’s your typical Chinese place, really. What separates this place is the fact that most of their viands are priced at 200 Php, a bit below from your average similar place and yet manages to serve a similar amount.

Beloved and I had dinner at Ling Nam a couple of weeks ago, during Good Friday. This was one of the few places opened at Banawe, where Beloved was, during that day. This Chinese dimsum/noodle place apparently is one of the mainstays of the place, and it has established some regulars, Beloved’s family included. Since choices were limited that day, it’s not too difficult a decision.

Beloved and I had afterbrunch at Caution Hot some days ago. This noodle place has been around Magiting Street, just adjacent to Maginhawa Street, and we’ve been passing it for quite a few times already. There’s always a queue, so we didn’t bother. After learning they serve noodles, and finding that there’s a bit less of a queue than usual, we opted to try it out.

Beloved and I had dinner at Wangfu Chinese Bistro weeks ago. This Chinese restaurant replaced (thankfully) Teriyaki Boy at the second floor of the building across McDonald’s Tomas Morato. This is actually the second branch in the same street, the first being in Il Terazzo. Beloved had a chance to visit that place, and wasn’t that pleased with the serving size considering the price. So I had a pretty good image that this place isn’t your budget friendly Chinese place.

Foremost, I would like to apologize for the lack of entries for the past month. Beloved and I have been preoccupied and have been lacking funds as of late, mostly due to the release of the 6th Pokémon generation. We did manage to go to some places, but a couple of them is pending a revisit. This one, we probably won’t visit again sometime soon so I decided to write about it.

Beloved and I had dinner a couple of times at Gloria Maris. This Chinese seafood-specialty restaurant had a newly-opened (or maybe moved?) branch at the top floor of Gateway near where the cinemas are. Beloved usually associates Gloria Maris with expensive and classy, the former being the reason why we don’t consider going here. The first time we went, they were still on soft opening. Although it still looked classy and had an expensive feel, after surveying the menu, we found out it was surprisingly not-as-expensive as Beloved expected. Not fancying anything in particular that night, we decided to try it out.

Beloved and I had dinner a couple of times at Eton Centris Walk’s Yang Chow. If you know your basic food knowledge, you know that this is a Chinese place just from the name. Beloved has been here a couple of times before, but these were my first two times trying it out.
