Beloved and I had brunch at Snack Shack. I’ve been to this place many times before, and have been wanting to visit it with Beloved because she holds the camera. Now, I’ll try not to spoil much before we get to the pics, but I’m quite excited writing about this one.

Beloved and I had dinner at Van Gogh is Bipolar a couple of nights ago. This, for the lack of better word, strange restaurant is located on Maginhawa Street. The last bit of the previous statement would foreshadow this review. At first, I thought it felt very formal since we had to make a reservation beforehand and the price tag was among the steeper ones we’ve tried. However, since Beloved has been to this place before, she told me that it wasn’t, so, at least, we didn’t have to wear something formal, especially since we had to remove our shoes beforehand.

Before I begin, please note that this was a Valentines promo, and I’m not sure if this will be available in the future. That aside, read on.

Beloved and I celebrated an early Valentines at Old Oven Art Cafe. Honestly, this was done on a whim. Beloved had “liked” their Facebook page because she was interested in their cheesesteak sandwiches. She then saw them advertising this special menu for two starting February 12. Since it included risotto (which Beloved wanted to try) and rib-eye steak (which I wanted), it was pretty much a done deal and we made a reservation, despite knowing this place is a bit inaccessible for commuters like us.

Beloved and I ate at YakiMIX last Saturday for lunch. We were supposed to go there the night before because it was my birthday. We didn’t take the risk of going because it was pretty late at night when we prepared, so we delayed this date for the next day. We came in about fifteen minutes before it opens (which is at 11:00 AM). I was pretty excited because of unlimited sashimi and bacon, but I also decided for myself to try out their cooked food. Oh, if you can’t understand what I’m talking about, kindly read my review of the last time we went here.

Last night, beloved and I ate at Omakase. It’s been a while since we last ate here, and since it was a somewhat special day, we decided to celebrate by going there again. Also, we chose to go here instead of YakiMIX since beloved wasn’t hungry enough for buffet. Because it was a Saturday, we expected there to be a queue, and, as expected, there was. It wasn’t a long wait compared to the one we had to endure at YakiMIX, and since we are sure of the quality of the food, it didn’t really bother us. We were sure to order some kind of maki here, as we have concluded in our two visits that this is indeed their specialty.

Beloved and I went to YakiMIX for dinner a while ago. I’ve been clamoring to go here ever since I saw some pictures posted by some of my contacts of food from the place. We had knowledge that this was a Japanese buffet specializing in sushi and barbecue (yakiniku). We also had knowledge of how much we’d be spending, which is a little over 600 for the unlimited food and drinks. We also had knowledge of what time it opens, which was from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. for dinner. What we didn’t have knowledge of was how popular this place was and that the queue time would be an hour at least. After going to the nearby Kozui and Baang coffee shop to kill some time and a bit of our starvation, we went back to find out the queue was extended. There were many other patrons waiting besides us, but luckily, since there was only two of us, we got accommodated for at 8 p.m.—almost two hours from the time we came. Was it worth the wait?

For dinner, still at Subic, we went to Sakura. Father wanted Japanese, and our choices were this, Teriyaki Boy, and a restaurant called Spanish Gate. Since this sounded the most Japanese one, we ate here.

Beloved and I went to Omakase today. Yes, again. The reason basically was we were craving for their rolls. Also, ever since we ate there, the only thought in mind was we had to go back here. So we did. When we got there, the place was full, and there was a waiting queue for those wanting to eat there. Even then, we still waited just to eat there. This just shows how good the place is.

Beloved and I had dinner at Omakase tonight. We don’t know of this resto, and just Googled it up with Tomas Morato restaurants. This was the second top rated entry at the “I’m feeling lucky” site, so we decided to go there for the heck of it… or maybe after looking through the menu and seeing cold noodles there and beloved was craving for it. Anyway…
