Today, me and Inggo went to SM North and Trinoma for his errands. I’ve been wanting to go to this new dessert shop ever since I saw it but never had the chance and the reason to do so. (Plus he won’t allow me to eat desserts.) We finally went here today because we were in need of change to go home.

Sumo Sam

Last night, beloved and I ate at Sumo Sam. Beloved was craving for sashimi and sukiyaki last night, and our choice was this or another somewhat-newly opened restaurant called Kimpura. We decided to go here because the latter was a bit intimidating with most of their patrons wearing a formal attire. This newly-opened Japanese restaurant apparently specializes in “steak, seafood, and sushi”. We did manage to get a peek of their menu, and saw that their prices was way steeper than the usual Japanese resto. However, hoping quality and quantity was better, perhaps on par with that of Sakura, we went in.

Mei Hua Pot & Noodle House

Beloved and I ate at Trinoma’s Mei Hua last night. We don’t usually eat Chinese. So far, the only Chinese places we’ve eaten at are Chowking, Chinese stalls at food courts, and street siomai/noodles if they count. It’s not that we don’t like Chinese food, it’s just that we don’t usually crave for it, and if we do, we just end up at Chowking. Last night was also weird in that I was craving for french fries and we ended up here. The place is conveniently located near the Mindanao carpark entrance, so we pass this by often, especially since we frequent Sizzling Pepper Steak just across of it.

Jack's Loft

Jack’s Loft has been a semi-favorite hangout of beloved and me when we have a bit of money to burn and feel like drinking a lot of iced tea ever since we tried its incarnation on Trinoma. Yesterday, we ate there after a few months of not going. Although this bistro specializes in desserts and alcohol, we love their sharable sandwiches and special iced tea. We also like its location in the mall, which is at the alfresco area on the fourth floor near our tambayan arcade with the cool wind rushing in from the west balcony.

Yesterday, me and beloved went out and ate at Sizzling Pepper Steak at Trinoma. We’ve been here a couple of times, and both of those experiences were not bad, so we went there again. They obviously specialize in peppered steaks, but there are also some other items such as fried favorites and pastas in their menu. There has been some drastic changes since the last time we went, but the menu was pretty much the same, with some new stuff in them.

A few days ago, me and beloved ate at Crustasia Trinoma. I’ve never eaten here before, nor have I heard any feedback from anyone. However, the big banner at the center of the mall was quite tempting not to try it out. I was actually supposed to write this review earlier. For the reason why I wasn’t able to, read on.

Tempura Japanese Grill

The other day, beloved and I ate at Tempura Japanese Grill. The first time I tried this resto out was the one in Tomas Morato. Then, the one on Trinoma during its opening, which is what my review is about.

Obviously, they specialize in Japanese food. What’s special is that each table has their own grill so that customers would be able to grill their orders themselves. However, we have never tried the grilling part. While their grill is not part of this review, their tempura is. The first time I ate here, I fell in love with their tempura. Although a bit pricey, at around 45-60 Php each, depending on how many you order, they have certainly filled my tempura cravings. Suits their restaurant’s name well, I must say. Ah, but I digress, on with the nomnoms.

We ordered noodle soup for both of us. Mine was Tempura Ramen and beloved’s was Tempura Udon, both at 190 Php. For those who don’t know, they’re basically the same soup, but ramen noodles are thinner and udon is much thicker.

First and foremost, I apologize for the quality of the pictures on this post. Might as well apologize for the entire site, as we do not really have a high-quality camera and only use our mobile phones to capture images. I hope my wordy reviews make up for it.
