My betrothed and I had an early dinner at Sumo Niku near the end of 2018. This place was in soft opening at a new portion of already gargantuan SM North EDSA called the North Towers (except it’s not really a tower; the mall is more elongated than tall and perhaps more fitting to be called North Wall). We happened upon the place while exploring the new mall section and we learn that they offer unlimited barbecue similar to most other Korean all-you-can-eat places popping up all over the place. Since the price seemed fair, we decided to try it out.
Beloved and I had dinner at Ramen Nagi for the last two Fridays. This ramen place is apparently the most-reviewed so far this year. We never had the chance to visit it because of work even though a somewhat accessible one opened shop at SM North EDSA. We only had a chance recently because, for some reason, both of our Fridays became a bit more schedule-friendly.
Beloved and I had dinner at Taisho. This small ramen place took over a somewhat unlucky tenancy on SM North EDSA’s Sky Garden, having at least two previous tenants before it. Still, it looked like a relatively cheaper ramen place and seemed to be always full. We were lucky to be accommodated immediately when we went.
Because we were dissatisfied with Ginza Bairin, we found ourselves craving for great katsu. Since it has been tried and tested personally a couple of times, we know that Yabu serves just that. Since our last blog on this place more than a year ago, Yabu has expanded to many places, mirroring their success and perhaps starting a fad. One of their newest branches opened up in SM North EDSA, which is a more accessible place for us.
Me, Beloved, and friends celebrated one of our friend’s birthday last night at Vikings. Incidentally, it also happened to be one of the first days for the soft opening of the anticipated SM North EDSA branch. We have been wanting very badly to try out the place, and even considered going to the already opened branches at SM Mall of Asia and SM Marikina. What kept us was the promise that the SM North EDSA branch was opening “soon”. This was a few months ago, and after half a year, the promise was finally fulfilled.
Me, Beloved, and friends celebrated a Holiday’s party last Saturday. We met up at SM North EDSA and decided to have dinner at Peri-Peri. This is among the original food places that opened up when the new Annex building re-opened. Beloved and I never had the opportunity to try out this Portugese grilled chicken restaurant, but our friends did. Garnering no negative reviews, and with the fact that they offer unlimited soup and drinks for 49 Php, there was little hesitation from me.
Beloved and I had dinner at Lugang Cafe last night. This internationally-famous Taiwanese restaurant-slash-cafe is among our more pricier ventures, but Beloved mostly heard positive feedback here from her friends. I personally haven’t heard of it until recently, when they opened doors to a new branch at an accessible (to us) SM North EDSA, probably because of it being pricy. Of course, we’ve had other pricy ventures before, and it mostly turned out well, so we gave this a shot.
Me, Beloved, and a couple of friends partook in Papa John’s Unlimited Pizza Tuesday promo on its last day at SM North EDSA. This promo has been around for a couple of months. We tried going on the first day, but the entire corridor was packed with people wanting to try it out, and we ended up in Joey Pepperoni. We didn’t have time or thought to go back after this incident. However, we found out that the last Tuesday was a couple of days ago, and we decided to take part in it, even if we had to queue.
Me and my friends ate at Almon Marina for dinner a couple of days ago after our semi-weekly Bingo sessions. This relatively newly-opened sandwich bar replaced Seattle’s Best Coffee’s location in SM North EDSA’s the Block. We had no idea what to expect here, but I guess it was safe to assume that this would be something similar to Oliver’s Super Sandwich where sandwiches are the main specialty. However, I also assumed that they had good seafood due to the second of its name.
Last Saturday, Beloved and I discovered that The Great British Take Out is no longer at its usual spot in SM North EDSA’s Sky Garden. A quaint hot dog place took its place. It was called Hapadog, and they specialize in dogs—not the animal, but the sausage sandwich. Apparently, their hotdogs were Japanese of some sort as the store itself had the tagline “original Japanese-style hotdogs”. Because the tables were in the open, we curiously watched as a customer ordered something that required lighter lighting. Thus, we opted to try it out.
